Attorney BiographiesSteven W. Ray (Partner),
Steven W. Ray is a founding partner of IslerDare PC (formerly Ray & Isler, P.C.). Prior to establishing the Firm in 1997, Steve represented employers in the Washington, D.C. area for ten years as an attorney with local firms, Kruchko & Fries in McLean, and Epstein, Becker & Green in Washington, D.C.
Steve advises employers and speaks on subjects such as workplace security and monitoring, employee theft relating to electronic data, sexual harassment, union organizing, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Service Contract Act, and affirmative action. He has represented employers in courts throughout the country, in particular California where he practiced for several years, in cases arising under federal and state laws.
Edward Lee Isler (Partner),
Edward Lee Isler is a native of the Washington Metropolitan Area and is a founding partner of IslerDare PC (formerly Ray & Isler, P.C.). Prior to establishing the Firm in 1997, Eddie spent seven years practicing labor, employment, and employee benefits law in Washington, D.C. with a national firm, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, and two years with a regional firm, Kruchko & Fries. Before beginning private practice, Eddie served a one-year term as judicial clerk to the Honorable James C. Turk, Chief Judge for the United States District Court, Western District of Virginia.
Eddie has achieved national recognition as a leading employment law attorney and maintains an outstanding reputation as an advocate for his clients’ interests in and out of the courtroom. He is a past Chair of the Virginia Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section, and the Planning Committee for the Virginia CLE Annual Employment Law Update.
R. Mark Dare (Partner),
Mark Dare, a native of Illinois, has resided in Northern Virginia since 1974. Prior to joining IslerDare PC in 2006, Mark was a partner in the Falls Church, Virginia office of the international law firm of Reed Smith, LLP, and its predecessors in Virginia, Hazel & Thomas, and Hazel, Beckhorn & Hanes, where he practiced for more than 30 years.
A past president of the Fairfax Bar Association (1994-95) and the Fairfax Law Foundation (2004-5), Mark is a frequent lecturer and author of written materials on employment law subjects. He is an editor of Employment Law in Virginia, the acknowledged “bible” of sources for the law of the workplace in Virginia, and he is the author of the book’s chapter on Unfair Competition, which deals with convenants not to compete, disloyalty, and theft of trade secrets.
Michelle Bodley Radcliffe (Partner),
Michelle Bodley Radcliffe is a partner with IslerDare PC. Prior to beginning private practice, Michelle served a one year judicial clerkship with the Honorable James H. Michael, United States District Court, Western District of Virginia and then practiced for six years in Washington, D.C. with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where she focused on civil litigation with an emphasis on defense cases.
Michelle often speaks on employment law issues at educational seminars for managers and human resources professionals.
Andrea I. O’Brien (Partner),
Andrea I. O’Brien is a Partner at IslerDare PC. Prior to joining the firm in June 2011, Andrea was a long-time partner at Venable LLP.
Andrea assists clients in designing and implementing a wide range of employee benefits and executive compensation arrangements. Andrea works closely with the HR, legal, tax, financial and benefits professionals of her clients to ensure that their benefit programs not only comply with the labyrinth of technical legal requirements that apply to them, but that these programs also meet her clients’ overall business and employee-relations goals. Andrea speaks frequently to clients and other groups, providing training on a wide variety of employee benefit issues, such as fiduciary responsibility; current trends in retirement plans; redesigning health plans to meet the requirements of Federal health reform; restructuring executive compensation agreements under 409A; and HIPAA medical privacy and security compliance programs.
Wayne A. Schrader (Partner),
Wayne A. Schrader is a Partner at IslerDare PC. Prior to joining the firm in April 2012, Wayne served as a partner with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher from 1983 through March 2012.
Wayne is an experienced trial attorney. He has tried jury and non-jury cases in various courts throughout the United States. Wayne has also tried numerous cases in various state courts and before arbitrators and administrative law judges connected with various federal agencies including the NLRB, HUD and the DOL. Wayne’s employment law experience includes the defense of individual and class action claims for discrimination (including harassment claims) or violation of wage & hour laws. It also includes representation of employers in union organizing campaigns, negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and grievance arbitrations under collective bargaining agreements. Wayne has also defended employers in whistleblower retaliation claims arising under a variety of laws including SOX.
Mark E. Papadopoulos (Partner),
Mark E. Papadopoulos is a partner with IslerDare PC. After law school, he clerked for one year for the Honorable J.L. Edmondson on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to joining Isler Dare, Mark served as a Senior Policy Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for Employment Standards at the Department of Labor. Prior to this appointment, Mark spent three years in the Solicitor’s Office of the Department of Labor where he rendered advice and litigated cases on behalf of the Department. Before his government service, Mark practiced for three years in Washington, D.C. with the firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher where he focused on civil and criminal litigation matters at both the trial and appellate levels. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and D.C. as well as various federal courts including the Supreme Court of the United States.

Lori H. Turner is a partner with IslerDare PC.
Lori has experience in advising and counseling clients in a wide range of labor and employment issues including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Act of 1866, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, wage and hour claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act, privacy and security requirements under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, the Consumer Credit Protection Act, and state garnishment and support orders. Lori also reviews and drafts employment agreements such as separation agreements, non-competition agreements, non-solicitation agreements, confidentiality/trade secret agreements, and executive employment agreements.
Vi D. Nguyen (Senior Counsel),
Vi D. Nguyen is a Senior Counsel at IslerDare PC. Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Vi practiced for seven years at Hogan Lovells US LLP in Washington, D.C., where she specialized in employee benefits and executive compensation, as well as corporate & securities.
Vi counsels publicly-traded and private company clients in areas of employee benefits and executive compensation for compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code and federal securities laws. She also has experience with the tax-qualified retirement plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, and equity compensation plans, including employee stock purchase plans, stock option plans, stock appreciation rights, and synthetic (phantom) equity arrangements. Vi reviews and drafts executive employment agreements, separation agreements, change in control agreements, severance plans and consulting agreements. She also has extensive experience with employee benefits matters arising in the context of mergers and acquisitions, including the negotiation and drafting of stock and asset purchase agreements and golden parachute tax issues.
Matthew M. Craig (Senior Associate),
Matthew M. Craig is a Senior Associate at IslerDare PC. Prior to joining IslerDare in 2015, Matt practiced in house at Capital One Financial Corporation, where he advised on matters relating to the design and implementation of executive and equity compensation programs, compliance with federal securities laws and publicly-filed compensation disclosures. Before Capital One, Matt practiced for four years at Hogan Lovells US LLP and Crowell & Moring LLP, advising clients on a broad range of employee benefits, executive compensation, corporate and tax matters.
Matt assists public and private companies with employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including compliance with the Internal Revenue Code, ERISA and federal securities laws. He has experience counseling clients on plan design and compliance issues relating to nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements, equity compensation programs and arrangements, tax-qualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans. He also has experience structuring and negotiating executive employment, change of control and severance agreements and advising on issues arising under the federal securities laws, including the disclosure of compensation programs in public filings and compliance with insider trading rules.
Micah Ticatch (Associate),
Micah Ticatch is an Associate with IslerDare PC. Prior to joining IslerDare in 2010, Micah practiced civil litigation for three years in Newport Beach, California with the national firm Irell & Manella LLP. There Micah specialized in wage and hour class action defense.
Micah litigates cases and advises clients in all aspects of labor and employment law, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, and employment related tort claims such as defamation and duty of loyalty.
